The approach is inspired by the most modern language teaching theories and practices. The basic system is functional-communicative. Within teaching practice, however, the use of diversified methods is frequent, both in terms of approach and techniques and materials used: from the humanistic-affective method to project work, to the creation of collaborative projects and programs for the in-depth study of particular skills. (collective journal, academic writing, study language for university students, etc. ). Particular attention is paid to didactic and extra-didactic activities aimed at gaining knowledge of the local territory and culture, both as part of normal teaching activities and through thematic workshops and educational visits. The classes are diversified based on the level of knowledge of the Italian language of the enrolled students. The School activates courses at all levels, from beginner to advanced, based on a minimum number of students present. The teaching activity includes both frontal lessons and sessions aimed at the production of collective works, educational visits and thematic workshops. The teaching material is provided in handouts by the teachers. The presence of young university students with Italian mother tongue (especially during intensive courses) interested in linguistic mediation and interculture, in addition to promoting greater integration into the city fabric, completes the learning of the language in an informal context. Initial skills are assessed through an entrance test. At the end of the course another test will evaluate the skills achieved by the student.
