Recipe Quilt Effect Sugar Cake

Ingredients:

For decoration: 1 meter, 1 star tool, 1 wheel tool, colored beads, a square in food cardboard, food glue composed of water and cmc (carboxylmethylcellulose), sugar paste.

Doses for: 5 persone realization time: 30 minutes

Recipe:

Let's start by having a cake already covered with butter cream and then cover it with our sugar paste that we spread at a slightly greater thickness (about 4 mm) to facilitate the decoration with a quilted effect. Make sure we work it and spread it well on the cake so that it adheres evenly, then cut the excess dough. We continue to correctly position the sugar paste, always helping ourselves with the smoother, until a perfect coating is obtained. Then we take the measurements of our cake and then mark the top edge of the sugar paste with the star tool. We therefore make signs at a regular distance, always helping ourselves with the meter, in order to create the diamond effect of our quilt. After marking all the cake, we take the square and with the wheel tool we go to engrave the sugar paste to leave the effect of the quilt. This processing must take place over the entire surface. Once all the cake has been marked in the same direction, we proceed to mark it in the opposite direction by doing the same job with the square and the wheel tool. Then with the fingers, we go to mark all the points where we're going to put our beads that will look like buttons. With the star tool we go to mark the sugar paste to make it look even more like the topstitch effect. Arriving at the final effect, we insert the colored beads using the food adhesive. We will thus have the finished quilted effect.
